After much deliberation, A-Gent of Style has decided to divulge one of his favourite haunts in Central London.

Hidden from the maddening hustle and bustle of the ghastly Oxford Street,
Bond & Brook is a haven of peace and allure tucked away on the second floor of Fenwick, the refined department store on Bond Street. During or after a shopping spree,  A-Gent of Style likes to take refuge in the café/restaurant to sip a cup of tea, flick through magazines and feast his eyes on the very chic interior and the Tatler, fashion-savvy clientèle. Run by the award-winning food company Rhubarb,
Bond & Brook offers an enticing selection of delicious dishes (go for the small plates to share) but also a couture breakfast, dainty afternoon tea and selection of cakes throughout the day.

As for the setting, the elegant and understated decor fits seamlessly well with the très chic womenswear that surround the gleaming-white café: a Calacatta-white marble floor underneath an eye-catching, shimmering burnished pewter bar complement groovy, celadon-coloured leather seat and white-painted metal stools,
a focal library of glossy fashion books, and a faceted-mirrored wall (reminiscent of Chanel’s iconic spiral staircase on Rue Cambon, Paris).

And, don’t forget; it’s now our little secret…

A few shots from the two types of cupcakes I baked for a friend’s birthday last weekend: Pistachios & Blueberries and Orange and Lemon

A surprisingly light and not-too-rich Nigella Lawson chocolate cake which recipe I characteristically twisted and ‘freestyled’ by adding chilli flakes in the batter and topped with pistachio for decoration. Delicieux!
